Summary of the Meeting of Hilton Parish Council on 4th March  2025 for Ansty, Higher Ansty and Melcombe Bingham and Hilton

HILTON 20 MPH SPEED SURVEY - The Parish Council would like to very much thank all those who responded to the recent survey. The survey results are these:

On the basis of these survey results, Hilton Parish Council will be making a formal submission to Dorset Council for the introduction of reduced limit of 20 mph in Hilton. Particularly helpful to the Council were respondents comments highlighting the hazard of walking in the village and when entering and leaving junctions.  It is worth noting that ‘near miss’ incidents can be reported to Dorset Council using this link:

UNSUITABLE FOR HGV SIGNAGE - at the Knapp, Hilton. The Parish Council is still seeking the agreement of landowners regarding the installation of permanent ‘official’ signage and has made some progress in this respect.

PLANNING APPLICATIONS

P/HOU/2025/00799 - Hatherly Farmhouse Coniger Knap Higher Ansty DT11 0HF - Demolish existing conservatory and erect single storey rear extension and external alterations – Application SUPPORTED.

P/FUL/2024/01451 - Crown Farm Duck Street Hilton DT11 0DQ - Instal photovoltaic array - The PC OBJECTED to this application principally because of the scale, visibility and its potential impact.

DOG WASTE – Residents and visitors are reminded to take dog waste bags away from footpaths and dispose of these by appropriate means. Litter Bins are too expensive to be provided on Parish footpaths.
